Whenever I heard the word “Binge” I always think food rather
than TV, books and video games. When I did here it while referring to TV, books
and video games I thought it was a figure of speech. Apparently, you CAN binge
on social media under the same terms you would if you were eating food. I
always just called it something else, like, “procrastinating.” Surprisingly
enough, all I’ve been doing all these years is binge on TV, books and video
games. Ironic ain’t it? This soul crushing realization became evident when I was
required to watch a total of 24hrs of TV in three days and I breezed through
it. Kind of put the reality of my social life in check. Then again that was
just TV. I’m pretty sure anybody can sit on a couch and watch TV for hours at a
time and stare at the almighty screen. What I’m curious about is the reading. I
normally don’t read for fun let alone binged on book. I’m optimistic but at the
same time in a “but… I don’t like reading” state of mind. Not really the right
mindset when I have to read 20hrs worth in three days. Hopefully my blind trust
in my teachers’ reading selections will come through in the clutch and help me
not suffer through those twenty hours. As for the video games I scoff at the
challenge. 16hrs of binge playing a video game is too easy for a guy who lacks
a life such as I. Though I’ve been surprised on just how much I can take of a
relentless boss level. NO! I shall stay optimistic and cast my minor concerns
to the side and just do it. I shall leave my concerns for topics that really
matter like keeping up with the data entries and the research project due at
the end of the month. No way a four credit college class would just let you binge
on media slide without doing some crazy project at the end. No, that would be
crazy, right?
